Biographical NoteM. Regina Castro, M.D., is a board-certified endocrinologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and a professor of endocrinology at College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic. She is a member of the Thyroid Disease and Diabetes Core Groups for the Division of Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic. In her practice, Dr. Castro specializes in treating patients with diabetes and all thyroid disorders, such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid cancer, and Graves' disease. As a clinical researcher, she primarily focuses on evaluating and treating thyroid disorders, managing patients with thyroid nodules and cancer, and using new non-surgical approaches to treat benign thyroid nodules. Dr. Castro is a member of the American Thyroid Association, where she has served on the Board of Directors and currently serves as President of Women in Thyroidology. She previously served as the Chair of the Patient Affairs and Education Committee, as well as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force for the association.
