From The Booth

Zac (Zack Gottsagen) is a learning-disabled young adult with Down syndrome, kept in a retirement home with nowhere else to live. Hating his housing situation and dreaming of becoming a pro wrestler, Zac escapes the old folks home with the help of his roommate, Carl (Bruce Dern). Zac crosses paths with Tyler (Shia La Beouf) who is also on the lam but for different and more dangerous reasons. With Zac’s social worker Eleanor (Dakota Johnson) in hot pursuit, the two buddies hit the road (well, land and water actually) en route to the Salt Water Redneck’s (Thomas Haden Church) wrestling school. “Gottsagen, LaBeouf and Johnson deliver intensely realistic performances of three humans looking for healing and connection... whether the performances are driven by real-life trauma or by acting doesn’t matter. Life might be imitating art or vice versa... One thing is certain: The Peanut Butter Falcon is a wonderful piece of art"— S Rodrick, The Globe and Mail.
