From The Booth

Isabel (Michelle Williams) leaves her work at an orphanage in India to meet prospective final supporters, wealthy couple Theresa (Julianne Moore) and Oscar (Billy Crudup), in New York. Upon Isabel’s arrival, Theresa announces she’ll need a little more time before agreeing to finance the orphanage, but in the meantime welcomes Isabel to stay the weekend and attend the wedding of their daughter, Grace (Abby Quinn). With a preamble like that, how could a wedding just be a wedding? And like any film centred around nuptials, we’re in for a vast array of (bad?) behaviours, family tensions and social gamemanship. Susanne Bier’s Oscar-nominated story is presented in English by this superb cast.
