Nicky Dread 40th Anniversary

Join Nicky Dread as he celebrates his 40 Years of Reggae Radio Revolutions on CFRU at the eBar, 37 Quebec St, Guelph. Featured on “40 Dread Years” will be a live performance by Guelph’s own rootsy Reggae band, Foundation Steppas. There will also be a surprise appearance by members of an icon of the local music scene.

Five DJs will be in session. Representing Toronto is Friendlyness, from reggae band The Human Rights. Local DJs include: Muse of House of Velvet, Kris Leblanc from North Star Crew, and Analog Soundsystem’s Docta Def. Nicky Dread will drop some tunes.

A recurring theme in Guelph’s Caribbean vibrations is live art by Shar. Shar will be creating a work on the night that is reflective of the celebration.

Tickets are $15. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Guelph Black Heritage Society.

“40 Dread Years” will be broadcast live on CFRU 93.3FM.
