About the Bookshelf's Cinema:

The Cinema is located at 41 Quebec Street, directly above the Bookshelf bookstore in the heart of downtown Guelph. We are a indie, art-house movie theatre that has earned a reputation for screening great films from indies to foreign to art-house to Hollywood Blockbusters and more!

TICKETS

The Box Office opens 30 minutes prior to showtimes and is cash only. Advanced tickets can be purchase in the bookstore using cash or credit. Tickets cannot be purchased online.

Ticket prices are: $13 general admission, $10 seniors, children & bookshelf members.

During construction the stairwell opens 30 minutes prior to showtime.

If you would like to become a Bookshelf member, memberships can be purchased in the bookstore and registered at the front cash. They cost $20/ year ($35/ year for a family membership) and they save you 10% off of books, $3 off of the cost of a movie ticket and you'll save on various author events & book launches. University & College Students are given complimentary bookshelf memberships.

REFRESHMENTS

The Bookshelf's Cinema is fully licensed and happy to responsibly serve craft beers, ciders, red & white wines. We also offer non-alcoholic refreshments including coffee, tea, juices, sodas and more. As for treats, we've got popcorn with REAL melted butter, ice cream treats, cookies, and more all available for purchase!

ACCESSIBILITY

Please note, we are on our way to becoming physically accessible. We are currently installing an elevator and renovating our establishment in order to reach our accessibility goals. We are anticipating to have the elevator & accessible restrooms ready for the first week of November. Until then,  the second floor is only accessible by stairs.
