Off the Shelf is the Bookshelf's very own in-house publication, which comes out
roughly once a month. While the content is always changing, the latest
Cinema Calendar can always be found smack-dab in the centre.
For years,Guelphites have proudly displayed the Cinema Calendar
on kitchen refrigerators and office corkboards. Copies of Off the Shelf,
have also been a staple of bathroom-reading material from day-one.
If you don't have a physical copy on hand, you can always visit the Bookshelf's website, and click on 'Cinema' at the top of the page. That will take you directly to our online film calendar, where you can click the title and watch the trailer accompanied by a brief write-up.
Off the Shelf also features content that we do not always share on the website. From time-to-time, you'll find book reviews written by one of the Bookshelf's team members or friends. You'll also find information about upcoming not-to-be missed events, which can include author visits, book launches, fundraisers, performances and more. There are even ads for local businesses, classes, services, realtors and restaurants.
Perhaps you're interested in having an ad in the next edition, if so, contact Peter Coleman at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Let's not forget, the publication is 100% free. You can pick one up at the Bookshelf, or at various businesses in the downtown core and beyond. Feel free to grab one for a friend, co-worker or for a restroom in need of new reading material.
Oh, and when you're done with it, and about to pick up the next edition, remember that it is also 100% recyclable :)
Cheers & happy reading!
