On Sunday, June 12th at 11:30am, Miijidaa will be hosting Jacques L. Pauwels as he launches his newest book, The Great Class War: 1914-1918.
Pauwels is already receiving praise in the academic world, including David Tough of Trent University who describes The Great Class War as "a panoramic and persuasive history of the First World War…Pauwels convincingly disposes of two familiar views of the war: the reactionary myth that the war was glorious, and the liberal belief that it was meaningless. In fact, this book shows, the war makes more sense if you grasp the ideological motivation of the elites, which was to crush the working class and strengthen the hierarchies of old Europe."
As part of the book launch, Miijidaa will be serving a 3-course meal, included in the ticket price. The cost per person will be $45 (including tax and gratuity).
